i finally got my hands on Taufik's new album today, Suria Hatiku (My Heart's Sunshine) !

and so far the songs are sounding great. a lot of happy-going tracks, which is a cute thing cos it makes you happy the moment you hit the first song, Gadis Itu (That Girl). hey, it matches the title as well! but personally i like the ballads, Nafasku (My Breath), Kau Dan Dia (You And Him) and his duet with Asian Idol Hady Mirza, KepadaNya (to Him). KepadaNya was especially calming, especially if you're in a rut. but oh, try to identify which parts taufik sang and which are the ones that hady sang. their harmony is perfect. and i love his voice in Citra Suria, which is one of the two songs in the album which is written by sifu M. Nasir! the other one is Hey. and Petua (Advice) is cute in the way the tune and lyrics are written. Khayalan (Imagination) is pretty good too.



instruments-wise, Addy Cradle's guitar playing skills is unbeatable. seriously. i've seen him play before and it's just like...



anyway, out of the 10 tracks in this album, Taufik wrote, arranged and produced 7 of the songs. Gadis Itu was composed by Ken Lim, and Citra Suria and Hey by M. Nasir. not to mention that Taufik played the guitar/piano/both in 5 of the songs.



but i have to admit, i still felt that ABOY was the best album so far cos it contained a lot of ballads. hehh. but if i wanna wake up to a bright, happy, sunny day, Suria Hatiku is definitely my pick! Go Fik! hehe.
